On Monday mornings, the Museum is open to members and their guests only until 1:00 p.m. Start off your week with a serene stroll through the galleries or a relaxing visit to the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.
Every Member Monday in December, we’re highlighting Fall Reveal—a major new presentation of our Dynamic Collection—with special gallery activations:
Mon, Dec 6: At 12:00 p.m., head to Gallery 415 to hear saxophonist Matana Roberts perform improvised responses to works that confront systems of power.
Mon, Dec 13: At 12:00 p.m., join curators Clément Chéroux and Rajendra Roy in Gallery 501 for a pop-up talk on the ways that lens-based technologies introduced a new way of seeing the world during the Industrial Revolution.
Mon, Dec 20: At 12:00 p.m., join curator Thomas Lax and cultural historian Tavia Nyong’o in Gallery 214 for a pop-up talk on the legacy of Mary Jones, a Black trans woman who lived in New York during the 19th century, and who plays a central role in Tourmaline’s film Salacia.
Mon, Dec 27: At 12:00 p.m., join us in Gallery 519 to create your own weaving inspired by the Bauhaus, a school of art and design founded in 1919 as a laboratory for radical artistic experimentation.
