Jackson Pollock. Untitled (1), state II of III. 1944

Jackson Pollock Untitled (1), state II of III 1944

  • Not on view

This engraving was one of several printed from the same copper printing plate, representing various states or stages in Pollock's development of the image. Although the lines remain the same, he applied the ink to the plate differently before printing each one. The semi-abstract composition shows figures dancing around and over a fire.
